Description
A global and one of the world’s largest Insurance Service provider is looking for a strong Mainframe Engineer
.
Responsibilities:
- Design, code, and test new mainframe applications or enhancements to existing systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze business requirements.
- Ensure alignment of system designs with organizational goals and industry best practices.
- Monitor and maintain mainframe systems for optimal performance and availability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime.
- Perform regular upgrades, patches, and performance tuning.
- Manage data integration, storage, and processing on mainframe systems.
- Ensure data integrity and security by implementing robust measures.
- Work closely with business analysts, developers, and system administrators to deliver solutions.
- Provide technical support and mentorship to junior team members.
- Document technical procedures, configurations, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements in system operations.
- Implement and maintain disaster recovery and backup processes.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience (3-5+ years) in mainframe application development, maintenance, or systems administration.
- Strong programming skills in COBOL, PL/I, or other mainframe languages.
- Understanding of networking concepts and integration with mainframe systems.
- Proficiency in scripting for automation and operational efficiency.
- Mainframe Hardware Installation and Configuration Management: e.g installing zServer, IBM DASD, and VTS, configuration management of HCD/IOCP.

Working Hours:
9:00 - 18:00 (Mon-Fri)
Working Style:
3 days’ work in office, and 2 days’ work from home
