Description
A global and one of the world’s largest Insurance Service provide is looking for a strong bilingual Database Engineering Manager , for its IT Infrastructure Services Group.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of database engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance evaluations
- Design, implement, and maintain robust database systems to support business applications and data analytics
- Ensure the security, availability, and performance of database systems through proactive monitoring and optimization
- Collaborate with software development teams to design and implement database solutions that meet application requirements
- Develop and enforce database standards, best practices, and policies
- Manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
- Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies and industry trends, and recommend improvements to existing systems
- Coordinate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide technical expertise in database design and architecture
- Oversee database capacity planning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of proven experience as a Database Engineering Manager or in a similar leadership role
- Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Experience with database design, performance tuning, and optimization
- Proficiency in SQL and database scripting languages
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark)
- Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Knowledge of data privacy and security regulations
- Certification in database management or related technologies

Working Hours: 9:00 - 18:00 (Mon-Fri)
Working Style: 3 days’ work in office, and 2 days’ work from home
Holidays: Saturday, Sunday, National Holidays, Year-end and New Year Holidays, Paid Holidays
